OEMK ships record volume of cast square billets

OEMK (part of Metalloinvest) has shipped a record number of cast square billets in 2020. The enterprise shipped 1.04 mn tonnes to customers in Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, China, Italy, Denmark, Colombia and other countries. This exceeded the previous record set in 2016 by almost 20,000 tonnes.

Concast billets are used to produce long and shaped products for the construction, automotive and machine-building industries.

In the current challenging environment, the more economical billets, as compared to costlier finished rolled products, were in high demand in foreign markets. Thanks to proper production planning and the professionalism of its specialists, the enterprise was able to adapt quickly to the changing situation and satisfy growing demand from its customers.

Alexey Ugarov OEMK produces concast square billets, with section measurements of 150x150 mm and 170x170 mm and of different grades, at CCM #6. The products are characterised by a consistent surface quality and the precision of their geometric dimensions.

Since CCM #6 was commissioned in 2005, total shipment has amounted to 12 mn tonnes.
