OMZ-Spetsstal wins a contract for Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP

It is not the first order placed by OAO Power Machines Company at OMZ-Spetsstal. Currently OMZ’s metallurgical division is finishing work on two more hydraulic turbine billets. The first one will be shipped before the end of the month. Firm adherence to deadlines and high product quality, ensured by the DSP-120 automated steel-making facility, became the key factor in the decision.

The hydraulic shaft billet is manufactured from a 360 ton slab. The finished piece is over 9 m in length and about 3 m in diameter.

Power Machines Company and OMZ Group have been partners for a long time. This year, Izhorskiye Zavody have supplied three stator casings for the reconstruction of Sayano-Shushenskaya power plant; rotor frames are also in production. OMZ-Casting has shipped three rotor and center plate hubs.
