EKG-15 excavator, produced by IZ-KARTEX launched to work

Bogatyr Komir coal mine (a joint venture of Kazakhstan’s Samruk-Energo and Russian company RUSAL, JSC, Kazakhstan, Ekibastuz) commissioned the new EKG-15 excavator produced by IZ-KARTEX, which enters OMZ Group.

This is the first Izhorsky excavator, shipped to the LLP Bogatyr Komir for the last 20 years.

EKG-15 excavator with a total mass of about 700 tons is equipped with a new design bucket with increased capacity to 18 cubic meters. Through the use of modern technologies and materials increased the rate of technical readiness of the excavator. The reliability of the basic mechanisms of gears, strength of metal working equipment will ensure reduction in the time of repair downtime. All structural and technological changes that are applied in a renewed excavator, aimed at increasing its productivity. Its design capacity will reach 8 million tons of coal per year.

Cooperation of Ekibastuz coal miners with Izhorskie Zavody has more than forty-year history. Since 70’s Ekibastuz coal basin received from Izhorskie Zavody dozens of mining excavators of different modifications. Bogatyr Komir now operates 26 EKG excavators. The equipment has proved the positive side: it is safe to use, maneuverable and has high performance. Age of several excavators exceeds four decades, but they are still in working condition.

Bogatyr Komir has signed a contract with LLC IZ-KARTEX on delivery of two EKG-15 excavators. Currently, the customer has already started receiving nodes and components of the second excavator. In addition, the companies negotiate on the contract to supply Bogatyr Komir with EKG-12US excavator - another modification of the EKG family.
