Casting and rolling complex produced one million tons of hot rolled coils

Casting and rolling complex (part of the United Metallurgical Company, OMK, JSC) has produced one million tons of hot rolled coils, since the beginning of 2011. This milestone was passed on November 24th.

“The production volumes have been constantly increasing due to commissioning of casting and rolling complex in October 2008. From January till October 2011 the output increased by 9.5% as compared to the corresponding period of 2010. For a relatively new company it is a good pace of development. It has been archived by combining two key factors: implementation of advanced high technologies, which were applied by OMK during the construction and a young team of highly skilled professionals”, said Oleg Fedotov, Director of OMK-Steel branch.

Along with the focusing on increasing the production rate on the casting and rolling complex, we also develop new steel grades. At the moment the complex produces 27 steel grades, including corrosion resistant ones.
