ChelPipe Group and Gazprom signed cooperation agreement
ChelPipe Group and Gazprom signed a cooperation agreement for use of natural gas as motor fuel. The memorandum was signed by Aleksey Miller, Chairman of the Management Board, Gazprom, and Alexander Grubman, General Director, ChelPipe Group. The companies agreed on a phased conversion of ChelPipe’s vehicle fleet to natural gas supplied by the largest natural gas producer Gazprom. The gas concern will provide assistance in installation of gas equipment on vehicles.

“Traditionally, the White metallurgists are involved in all Gazprom's milestone gas pipeline construction projects by supplying tubular goods, fittings and valves”, said Alexander Grubman, General Director, ChelPipe Group. “ChelPipe Group and Gazprom are also united by a shared understanding of our social responsibility and commitment to environmental safety. Advantages offered by the new fuel are obvious: it is more environment-friendly and economical than conventional fuels. The Memorandum of cooperation in gas motor fuel is another evidence of mutually beneficial partnership established by our companies”.

Today, the White metallurgists are working on substitution of imported products for Gazprom. Import-substituting products include OCTG with Premium threads; large O.D. pipes fabricated using a proprietary ceramic flux and nano-modified materials made by Rusnano’s design company Metaclay, as anti-corrosion coating.

Eterno plant, a joint ChelPipe Group and Rusnano project, will start up by the end of 2015. The new plant will produce pressed and welded pipeline parts with nano-structured materials. The plant is committed to provide top-quality and competitive products to oil and gas companies.
