NLMK Logistics Centre truck shipments exceed 1 million tonnes

NLMK Group has increased truck shipments of metal products from its Logistics Centre at NLMK Lipetsk to 1 million tonnes per year. This is a record volume of truck shipments since the centre began operations in 2020. Development of truck transportation enables fast, reliable and safe deliveries. It also allows customers to maintain lower metal inventories and plan their production operations more efficiently.

NLMK Logistics Centre offers shipment services to customers in Russia’s Central Federal District. The facility has a total area of 30,000 sq. m. It can store up to 70,000 tonnes of metal products at the same time. NLMK Logistics Centre completed ramp-up to design capacity of 700 ktpa in 2022.

NLMK Logistics Centre was designed taking into account advanced solutions for storage and movement of metal products. Its IT system is integrated into NLMK’s other ERPs, enabling seamless collaboration between production, sales and logistics, ultimately ensuring the most efficient utilization of warehousing capacities.

All operations at the facility are captured and analysed by a smart video surveillance system. Automated systems measure and plan manipulations by equipment and staff, track storage locations, and control loading and unloading. The entire workflow occurs in a sheltered environment to protect the products from the elements, corrosion and damage.
