MMK to Announce 2007 Preliminary Production Results

According to A. Eremin, Head of the Economy Department, since January 2007 ММК has produced more than 1 mln tons of marketable products every month having increased output almost 9% compared to 2006. The production results of 2007 show record-breaking preliminary marketable products output 12.2 mln tons.

D. Kaplan, Director for Information Technologies, MMK announced results of carrying out of a number of projects on working out of one information system at the works and its sister companies. One of the results was creation of electronic trading site operating on supplies-sales principle.

Summing up the results of MMK operation in 2007 V. Shmakov, Vice-President for Finances and Economy, MMK Management Company pointed out that largely due to efficient work of all the economic departments on sparing the resources, materials and spare parts the task of reducing production cost has been fulfilled. Energy consumption has also been reduced enabling to save 1 bln rubles. V. Shmakov continued by saying that all this should be taken into account when finding ways to save energy.

Production, financing and investment prospects of 2008 were also discussed at the meeting. The meeting closed with awarding of the best economic departments.

The MMK economic council was established in 2004. The main task of the council is to ensure efficient management of resources of the works and its sister companies, coordination of the economic activity and methodological management of the divisions.
