Volgograd Steel Works "Кrasniy Oktyabr” Increased Output by 2% in 2007

In 2007 Volgograd Steel Works "Кrasniy Oktyabr” melted 732.3 thou tons of steel which is 2% more compared to 2006 (714.9 thou tons). Prefabricated products output increase by 3% reaching 533.4 thou tons (in 2006 – 514 thou tons). Nevertheless, in term of money this index exceeds the same index in 2006 by 45%. In 2007 the works manufactured products for 14.028 bln rubles against 9.665 bln rubles in 2006. The increase in total output is largely due to considerable increase in alloyed steel grades share.

In 2008 the works plans to melt up to 762 thou tons, increase the share of highly alloys steels in the total output and expand range of steel grades. Today Кrasniy Oktyabr produces about 680 steel grades.
