Oskol electrometallurgical plant successfully passed recertification ecological audit

The second recertification ecological audit is successfully completed at OEMK. Certification bureau “Veritas” experts mentioned a positive experience of internal audit and implementation of the waste calculation system based on R/3 program solution.

Environmental Management System based on ISO 14000:2004 standard has been functioning on OEMP for a long time. Audit’s criteria: requirements of the environmental standards, laws, conditions and regulations the enterprise committed to fulfill. Audit’s area: production of metalized and oxidized pellets, steel manufacture, billets, rolled products, water process management.

OEMK is to optimize several operation processes within 3 months, after that the certificate will be prolonged for 3 years. “There is no large metallurgical plant in Russia that can be compared with OEMK by minimization of environmental impact. It is highly effective enterprise in terms of ecology”, “Veritas” specialists stated.
