MMK to begin overhaul of blast-furnace 2

An overhaul of the first unit of blast-furnace 2 began at Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. The overhaul aims at modernization of the main facilities and raising technical and economic characteristics of the blast-furnace plant. According to the schedule the overhauls will last 110 days. As a result of the overhaul a no-bell feeder will be set up at the blast-furnace as part of the program of changing two-bell feeders for no-bell ones to reduce coke rate, increase productivity, and reduce emissions into the environment. Over the last few years no-bell feeders were set up at blast-furnaces 4, 6, 9, and 10.
