VSMPO-AVISMA is awarded for “Contract of a Year“

The Corporation has become a prize winner of “ Results of a year of Ural and Siberia-2009” in nomination “Contract of a year” . VSMPO-AVISMA was awarded for entering into contract with Airbus Company and setting up joint venture company -Ural Boeing Manufacturing.

The organizers of “ Results of a year of Ural and Siberia-2009” prize were UralPolit. Ru Expert Chanel and National Business journal. Within a stretch of three month 6 research agencies have been interviewing more than 400 experts and issued a list of applicants. Prizes on 20 nominations in the field of politics and economics as well as Prizes on 15 special nominations were taken by almost 70 VIPs of Ural, Siberia and Perm region.

In April, 2009 Airbus/EADS and VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation signed the most significant and long term agreement in the history of Airbus/EADS partnership with Russian industry. This agreement provides supply of titanium to Airbus and other EADS subdivisions up to 2020. The Contract includes supply of flat and round mill products from titanium alloys as well as die forgings that will be used in production of all Airbus aircrafts, including new generation aircraft А350 XWB.

In July 2009, Boeing Company and VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation announced of setting up of joint venture company Ural Boeing Manufacturing (UBM). The company performs primery machining of titanium die forgings manufactured at VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation , located in close proximity to the joint venture. Finished products will be used for construction of Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
