Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant Announces 9M 2012 Production Results
Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (LSE, MICEX: CHZN), Russia’s largest producer of zinc and zinc alloys, is pleased to announce its production results for the nine months ended September 30, 2012.
Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (CZP) produced 121,335 tonnes of salable SHG zinc and zinc based alloys in 9M 2012 (9M 2011: 121,895 tonnes). 66% of metal was supplied to the domestic market.
CZP’s affiliated company, Nova Zinc LLC, operator of Akzhal zinc and lead ore mine in Kazakhstan, produced 25,075 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate in 9M 2012, 4.4% less than in 9M 2011 (26,222 tonnes). Lead in lead concentrate production decreased by 24.3% to 2,931 tonnes (vs. 3,872 tonnes in 9M 2011).
CZP’s subsidiary, The Brock Metal Company Limited (the leading UK supplier of zinc diecasting alloys) sold 19,883 tonnes of zinc alloys in 9M 2012, which corresponds to sales volume for the relevant period of 2011 (19,769 tonnes).

According to consolidated IFRS accounts, revenue in 2011 was RUB 12,772 mln and EBITDA was RUB 2,194 mln.
