Rusal changed heads of two aluminium smelters

Oleg Buts has been appointed as Managing Director of Irkutsk Aluminium Smelter (IrkAZ). Prior to the appointment, Mr Buts worked as the Director of Department for Production System Training at Production Development Directorate of Rusal. He will replace Evgeny Kuriyanov, who has been appointed as Managing Director of Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ).

Both managers started their careers at blue-collar positions at Rusal plants where they passed through all the professional growth stages inside the company, gaining a great understanding of the production and plants specifics. Being part of ‘Rusal Personnel Reserve’ programme, both employees have developed their management role potentials, and were soon promoted to executive positions.

In their new roles, Oleg Buts and Evgeny Kuriyanov’s responsibilities will include increasing the share of value-added products (VAP) and the improvement of its quality, continuing further development of the Rusal Business System, as well as implementing the technologies used to minimize the production impact on the environment.
