Evraz plans to dispatch to its North American tubular mills up to 400 ths tons of slabs a year

In his interview to Prime-TASS D. Sotnikov, Vice-President of Evraz Group, Head of Ural Division said that the company planned to dispatch to its North American tubular mills up to 400 ths of slabs a year from Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works. According to him, today Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works has almost finished developing the manufacture of slabs for oil and gas pipes mills according to standards set by American Petroleum Institute. "At the end of 2009 we plan on manufacturing the first big commercial batch of about 25 ths tons of slabs for our American mills. Eventually we plan on reaching the level of 300-400 ths of tons a year", said D. Sotnikov.
