OMZ-Special Steels launches mounting of the new lathe with capacity of 250 tons

OMZ-Spesial Steels, part of OMZ Group, launches mounting of the new SR 4 -330/20m-type lathe for processing workpieces weighing up to 250 tons.

The equipment was delivered by Skoda machine tool (Czech Republic) under the contract with OMZ-Special Steels. The cost of the equipment is 300 million roubles, the value of the cost of the project as a whole, including the installation of the base and supply of communications, installation and commissioning, and training professionals, is more than 400 million rubles.

Foundation for the new lathe is fully prepared and adopted by Skoda machine tool, which will carry out installation of the equipment. Completion of works on installation of equipment is scheduled for June this year.

The new lathe is supposed to process shafts, rollers and rotors weighing up to 250 tons and length of 20 meters.

Commissioning of the new equipment will increase the share of the machined workpieces produced by the company. A modern lathe will allow finishing machining of workpieces, providing necessary approvals in accordance with the requirements of customers.
