A visit of the Vietnamese delegation
VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation was visited by the Vietnamese delegation in August.
The delegation included members of National Coal, Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (VINACOMIN), which deals with operation and development of resources and minerals in Vietnam, and some government representatives – President’s office administrator Mr. Lee and deputy minister of Industry and trade in Vietnam Mr. Hoang.
Tight schedule of the one-day visit to VSMPO included exposure to the history of the enterprise, conversation with the Advisor to Director General Vladislav V. Tetyukhin and the tour of the main enterprise divisions. After a visit to shops #21, 22, 30, 32, 38, 54, Vietnamese guests understood the titanium production scale to the full extent.
In the terminal point of the delegation’s way – in the forging machining shop – Director General of the corporation Vinacomin Mr. Hoa answered the questions of the VSMPO-AVISMA press service.
- Mr. Hoang, if the topic of building of the joint venture appears, can we say that the policy of both countries is the same?
- Vietnamese government announced in 2010, that it is necessary to develop the mineralogical sphere in the future; it means to do high-level processing of the mineral resources of the Vietnamese soils. The government gives an opportunity of carrying on business to the private institutions and state Corporations.
Almost together with Vietnam VSMPO got an aim to develop its manufacture, and accordingly to increase output of sponge titanium. As Vietnam has necessary raw materials, and “no winters”, it’s more cost-effective to build a titanium sponge manufacturing plant in Vietnam.
- We’re not pioneers in building of the joint Russian-Vietnam venture, are we?>
- No, we’re not. There already exist a lot of joint Russian-Vietnam ventures: in oil-and-gas branch, textile industry, medicine, agriculture. But there’s not a joint Russian-Vietnam venture that deals with mineralogy. We can say we tee up! The governments of both Russia and Vietnam support this project, which, in my opinion, must be accomplished judging by the last visit of Mr. Voevodin to Vietnam (he visited Vinaconin a week ago). And now Vietnamese delegation made a return visit to VSMPO-AVISMA.
We’re the largest mineralogical corporation in Vietnam and we see VSMPO-AVISMA as our future partner, who will help us to develop titanium branch. We hope to start productive and mutually profitable partnership soon.
It’s to be noticed, that Vietnam and Russia always has been on good and friendly relationship. It’s important that the Russian President Mr. Putin invited our President Mr. Sang to visit Russia and to sign some collaborating agreements, including agreements concerning developing of the advanced processing of minerals in Vietnam.
