Quality of MMK plates is guaranteed by high technologies used on mill «5000»

Plate mill «5000» with the capacity up to 1.5 mln a year was commissioned at MMK last July. Commissioning of the mill built according to the most advanced technologies used in the world machine-building enabled MMK to manufacture high quality and competitive products which has not been manufactured in Russian before. The steel products manufactured on the mill meet current and future needs of key steel consumers mainly oil and gas pipe plants.
The mill was built in cooperation SMS Demag, the world-known German machine-building corporation experienced in developing plate rolling technologies. The design of the mill 500 makes it possible to manufacture any type of plates meeting Gazprom and Tatneft big diameter pipes specifications: wall thickness up to 50 mm, strength properties up to Х120. The field of application of products manufactured on the mill includes: Arctic oil platforms building, bridge construction, ships and oil tankers building etc.
