Severstal to launch production of the biggest wire ropes in the world

Radaelli, an Italian company incorporated in Severstal-Metiz Group of Companies has commissioned a Flexpack wire ropes manufacture line on its facilities in Trieste, Italy. The technical specifications of the wire ropes include an improved endurance and the biggest loading capacity in the world with weight exceeding 550 tons and diameter reaching 175 mm.

Such wire ropes are designed for special use such as fixing an offshore marine oil deposit development platform under extreme conditions.

Choosing facilities in Trieste has not been random for transportation of the biggest wire ropes in the world is possible only by sea. Trieste as a port has a well-developed infrastructure and a good geographical location.
