Golden Innovators of Metal Ravne

In the new casting bay of Metal Ravne, one of the companies in the Slovenian Steel Group (SIJ), awards were presented to the best innovators or innovator groups who applied to this year’s tender of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia – Regional Chamber of Korolka. The ceremony was held on 28 May 2010 and was attended by MSc Samo Hribar Milii, managing director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, several mayors and other guests. This year Chamber’s innovation commission evaluated 30 proposals and at the ceremony four diplomas, eight bronze, eleven silver and seven golden awards were presented. The winning innovation “Forgings Made of 42t Ingot” came from Metal Ravne. The innovation comprises the whole production process from the preparation of the charge to the thermoforming of the forging and is entirely the result of own experience and specific metallurgic know-how. The third place among all innovations, also presented with a golden reward, went to the innovators of Nozi Ravne Egidij Hudrap and Viljem Peinik for the innovation “Industrial Knives of the new Generation Duralife V+”. The knives are intended for use in the industry of recycling and extraction of secondary raw material and have an essentially longer service life, better toughness and shall strengthen the position of the company as one of the leading companies in the production of industry knives. Both innovations also applied for the competition for the best innovation on the nation-wide level.
