Izhorskiye Zavody complete unique shipment of petrochemical reactors for OAO TANEKO
Izhorskiye Zavody, a part of OMZ Group, has successfully completed an unique shipment of two hydrocracker units ordered by OAO TANEKO for the new oil refining facility in Nizhnekamsk.
The hydrocracker units R0101 and R0102 are unique pieces of equipment, with over 5 m in diameter, 35 m in length and 295 mm wall thickness. Each reactor weighs over 1200 tons.
High-tech petrochemical equipment of these dimensions was manufactured by Izhorskiye Zavody for the first time in Russia.
During the manufacturing cycle, Izhorskiye Zavody have developed and implemented new technologies of smelting large slabs from special steels, forging of large-scale shells, welding with up to 300 mm seam thickness and out-of-furnace processing.
“Implementation of new technologies for the manufacturing of sophisticated equipment allows Izhorskiye Zavody to expand its presence in the petrochemical equipment market. The experience we have gained is unique and valuable not only for the company itself, but also for the Russian petrochemical industry as a whole”, says Ravil Urusov, Izhorskiye Zavody general director.
Shipping equipment with these dimensions is only possible by water. For this purpose Izhorskiye Zavody, with Gazprombank financial support, has built a new cargo berth and connecting roads in the Ust-Slavyanka port on Neva river.
The new cargo berth will allow to conduct uninterrupted shipments of large-scale vessels for the petrochemical industry and nuclear power plants of up to 1400 tons using various river cargo vessels, regardless of the water level in the Neva river.
Hydrocracker units for OAO TANEKO were the first pieces of equipment shipped from the new cargo berth. The loading procedure was an unique one – for the first time one barge accommodated two petrochemical reactors weighing 1200 tons each.
