the foundationTMKhasdeveloped itspipebusiness
throughacquisitionsaswell as the strategiccapital
expenditureprogramme.
The importantpriorityofTMK’sCAPEX
program is thegradualdecommissioningofoutdated
equipment and the transition to thebest available
technology.Thecompanyhasalready investedmore
than3blndollars in its facilitiesmodernization.One
of thekeyprojectsof thefinalpartof theprogramme
wascompleted in2013.Electricarc furnaceat
TaganrogMetallurgicalWorkswascommissioned
finally replacing theopen-hearthoperationswithin
theCompany.Thekeyprojectof2014 is theFQM
rollingmill atSeverskyTubeWorks.Combined
with theglobaldistributionnetworkand regional
expansion, this strategy ispayingoff.NowTMK
enjoys the largest steelpipemanufacturingcapacity
globally.
But today, inorder to surviveandbe successful
in themarket, it isnot enough to simply shippipes.
Today, it isalsoabout shippingpipeson timeand
in thevolumesneeded. It isalsoaboutfine-tuning
shipmentsand tailoring theproduct fora specific
project andoffering supervising services suchas
those required forassemblingand runningpipe
strings intowells.
TMKhasbeenworkingveryhard for several
years tomake sure thecompany ispositionednot
asa steel company, but alsoasanoilfield services
business. In2013, thecompany`smanagementput
a lotof efforts into thisaswell, resulting ina strong
growthofoilfield services in theNorthAmerican
Division.OFSi, thenewlyacquiredasset, isgrowing
confidently thanks to theclose ties ithaswith the
TMK IPSCO team. InRussia,TMKalsohasa strong
focuson its services to theoil andgas industry:
theCompany isdevelopingTMKOilfieldServices
facilitiesandhasambitiousexpansionplans for the
current year.
TMK strives toworkaccording toa“one-stop
shop”principle, offeringcustomers tubularproducts
togetherwitha setof related services.TMK’soilfield
services includeproductionand salesofpipeswith
gas-tightpremiumconnections,welded tool joints
fordrillpipes, couplings for tubingandcasing,
variousaccessoriesanddownholeequipment, heat
treatment andapplicationofprotectivecoatings,
aswell asassistingwithpipe strings running,
warehousingandpipes repairing.
TMKmanagement sees thecrucial roleof the
newglobal technical sales function in sellingand
promoting theCompany’spipeproductsand
services.This functionwas setup last year.Today,
theCompany isalreadygetting thebenefitsof its
